Lone Star Hiking Trail, Montgomery, TX, US

This mammoth wants to take a stroll down a path less traveled. Near enough to the road to be accessible, but hidden under natural cover. Near a marker that points the way to paths of great discovery!

The Sam Houston National Forest is situated about 50 miles north of Houston. It is home to the Lone Star Hiking Trail- the longest continuous trail in Texas! The coordinates will take you to a trailhead parking lot, usually there is plenty of parking although weekends have been incredibly busy these past few weeks. Once you are parked you will need to look for the trailhead signs, no need to go down the actual trail, but if you have the time for a great walk it is advised : )

Enjoy a beautiful TX day in the forest finding this friend. There are numerous geocaches in the area as well. While you are in the region you could come check out the Conroe GeoTour- GT8D.

I decided to take the day to grab some letterboxes, then noticed that this tag was close to a cluster of LBs. Quite a great little bonus to the outing. Many thanks to the hider!
