Emlenton, PA Park at Emlenton @ Allegheny River Trail Parking. You will walk or bike along the paved path that follows the river for about 2.5 to 3 miles. On the river side, you will see a nice bench. Sit. Enjoy the view, the quiet, the peace. Imagine Ethel the Mammoth doing the same! Ethel is hiding under the leg of the bench, on the right side, assuming you are facing the river.

Didn’t see that this one published until this morning. I kept an eye on it all day and it was still not logged as found this evening. I had some time so I made the drive out.

Found it as described.

Thanks for the TAG!

I was out for a walk along the canal this morning when I got the email alert about this cute little mammoth sleeping by the lock. I had the lock in sight so made the brief walk over and started the search. Within a few minutes I had him spotted.

I didn't expect to find one of these so close to home, as I have already missed out on a few in the area. Of course I couldn't remember my account info to log this from the area, so had to wait until i got home to claim my find. Thanks for hiding this one so close to home.

Mammoths are so tall I don't think it will make it under the bridge by the river.

cron publish 2 years 6 months ago 206 - Hugh Force Canal Mammoth

Mill Rd, Wharton, NJ, US

A wooly mammoth has found their way to a recently restored canal lock at Hugh Force Canal Park. It seems they took a lovely walk down the canal and then upon reaching the lock and ruins of the lock keepers house they grabbed a seat on the bench. While admiring the constructed walls from the furthest right spot on the bench, the mammoth found the perfect spot to take a nap. They walked to the corner directly in front of them and snuggled in, pulling a nice flat purple stone over their fur for added protection from the elements. Rumor has it that mammoths enjoy sleeping for a loooooong time so if you hurry you might be able to snag a glimpse of the mammoth!

ZekeMrCheke (Zeke) the grandson is a new Geocacher so his father the Muggle by the way, decided to take his sons to find the tag. Well my dad said to look on the poles so looked and couldn’t find it. Then I looked on the other side and saw bag with something in it. My dad said that I found it. Then we hopped back into the car and drove home.

Luther Burbank (March 7, 1849 – April 11, 1926) was an American botanist, horticulturist and pioneer in agricultural science. He developed more than 800 strains and varieties of plants over his 55-year career. Burbank's varied creations included fruits, flowers, grains, grasses, and vegetables. He developed the plumcot. (wikipedia entry)

Luther Burbank moved to Santa Rosa in 1875 and lived in this modified Greek Revival house with his mother from 1884 to 1906. The gardens are especially fun to walk around.

The tag is located on a brick fountain exhibit, parking is available close by. The tag is lodged between the sign and the brick façade. See the photo.

This Mammoth wandered into Pine Street Woods trying to avoid the corona virus. For extra protection, he tucked safely inside a pre-made geocache container for the finder to keep. Just look for the larger rock shown on the lower right side of the scenic picture as that is where you will find both. (Please note, PSW is open 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.)

Weston, the Wooly Mammoth came by for a drink of water for some relief from the Texas heat and humidity. Suddenly, he found himself surrounded by some crazed chefs from the nearby restaurants! This mammoth tag went for a walk on the Padilla Bay Shore Trail. It enjoyed the view so much it wanted to stay longer. You can see lots of different birds along the way. Blue herons and bald eagles are a common sight. A nice walk on a well maintained trail with benches along the way.

Tag hidden were gold rock meets black rock. See picture.

This one has been feeling emo because he has been listening to Morrissey and the cure. One of his favorite songs is Friday I'm In Love. So this was an excellent parking lot for him to hang out in since he was feeling blue.

I spotted this one wandering around the Ventura River Preserve and decided he was too much of a target and attached him to an existing cache Go To Da Sign, Get Da Box Fortunately the River is nearby so he has a place to cool off, but it is closed for playing at the moment.

Parking lot is closed, but there is street parking outside the gate.
