This mammoth may take a ride on one of these huge trucks or maybe something smaller. Great place to stretch my legs and I would surely be a huge PET for someone. Take me along and get your prize. Remember to respect the game guidelines and if you have already found a mammoth, please let someone else enjoy the search... don’t be selfish... thanks

I didn’t know about this until someone showed me this guy was here in a different platform. The little guy is home with me today and we needed to get out some anyway, and this was just a few miles from home. We made the find a lot harder than we needed to be—the coords initially had us WAY behind the fence, down closer to the river. We let them reset a little bit and made the grab. He was VERY pumped about the pirate booty. Thanks!

cron publish 2 years 9 months ago 910 - Mammoth of Cacher's Cove

US-1, New Brunswick, NJ, US

Once upon a time there was a little mammoth that loved stories so much that he always had his trunk in a book or watching a movie. Although he enjoyed all sorts of tales, his favorite place to be was by the water reading of pirates and heroes in far away lands. One day, during a wonderful tale about hidden treasure, he fell asleep in his favorite nook and was suddenly woken by two men in a heated discussion about stealing a ship. Oh no! Were they actual pirates like in his favorite stories? Remembering all of the things they are capable of, he decided his best option was to gather his belongings and stay hidden until it was safe.

And there he remains, crouched in a box behind a wall, waiting for his hero to come along...

Another place along this major highway to give my body, legs, and tusks a rest. Decided to grab a geocache while I was here that I hadn’t grabbed before. 2 for 1 deal here.

Who would have thunk a chunk like this would be in the middle of a suburban office complex. Wonder how many people go past and take no notice, or think it is just man made. Wonder how many of us do that all the time and all the things we miss. Good thing I knew about this place. I wanted to make sure others find it too.

So go on a suburban adventure and find your own mammoth. Be sure to look for the tree, then to the lighter rock, and you'll see the hidey hole.

Even prehistoric animals apparently have sweet cravings. This one has found a local sweet spot and hasn't left since. Better not leave him out there too much longer or you won't even be able to move him. He doesn't go far from the entrance hoping folks take pity and throw him a donut or cake. Be sure to wash it down with some coffee.

After seeing so many tags publish in the St. Louis area and either being found before I woke up, being found before I made my way there, or going missing, I didn't think that I would have a chance to get a tag. Especially since the game was almost over. There is also usually not nearly as many in my area during one game. When I saw 2 publish this morning, even one on the umsl campus, where I am living, I knew that I had a shot. I saw the one in Maryland heights publish before I woke up. But after I got ready for the day, the one closest to me was still active. So I left right away and took the umsl shuttle to within a half a mile of the cache. It took a while to find, I even thought I might have to bushwhack. But that would have been the last resort. After looking high and low and all around, I found it. Tricky find. Found at 10:41 AM. Thanks for the tag.

cron publish 2 years 9 months ago 110 - The Liffy Mammoth

Mason St, Lake Hopatcong, Jefferson, NJ, US

The Mammoth has roamed around on Liffy Island undisturbed for many years. Recently a bridge was built and now all the hikers and mountain bikers have easy access to the island and the mammoth has gone into hiding. People say they have caught a glimps of the mammoth by the corner of the bridge apparently trying to destroy keeping people off the island once again.

There is no need to move any rocks as the mammoth can be easily spotted and retrieved without disturbing any rocks.

Take a look at the big rock that is here. This rock could be the size of a baby mammoth. Circle around and look to the bottom of the rock. Should be a small opening and that’s where the Mammoth coin should be. Just look out for bees 🐝 flying around the area. Good Luck!!

Saw this pop up this morning but i thought it would be extinct by the time i could get out there. a few hours passed and no one had claimed the mammoth but in geologic time it is but a second, so i set out on my mammoth mission. i was driving back in time down route 78 looking for the stomping grounds for the great beasts and as i approached their location, the exit was blocked. i wondered to myself if this was the reason that no one had gone hunting for the great creature. found a back way and parked - no one was in sight. was it claimed? had it moved on? walked over and discovered its hiding spot. it was hidden with some other cool prizes. thanks for the adventure back in time.

cron publish 2 years 9 months ago 018 - Bethlehem Graveyard

Frontage Rd, Asbury, NJ, US

The Bethlehem Baptist Church ruins are located just off route I-78 East at exit 11. They sit at the beginning of Baptist Church Road. Very easy to access as the ruins are very close to the road. You will not find too much history about the church. We know the church was closed as a church in 1906. When first built it was the only Baptist church in the area. As more churches were built and people didn’t have to travel as far the congregation dwindled and the church was abandon. As the story goes: later the copper gutter work was stolen from along the roof and it is believed that due to the lack of the rain gutters and time the walls weakened and the roof collapsed. Then at some point the structure became the victim of arson. But still a very popular focal point for many area photographers. While I was shooting my set you see here there were two young ladies shooting as well. I would much rather see a preserved old church, then see ruins. I’m sure it was a beauty in it’s day. It has a very well kept graveyard that is maintained by descendants of it’s occupants.

Also if you peak inside the cluster of bushes just outside the cemetery, you'll find a handle of graves in the middle.

As for the tag. If your standing where the last picture was taken, the tag will be at your ankles.

Have fun and enjoy the tag. The extra goodies are for you to keep!
