I dont know if there are an mammoths here but maybe if you look real hard you will see one a cross the way. Most likely you will find a sea otter or seal. Maybe a fisherman or two. For you cachers out there the hide is a typical LPC. Enjoy

The glacier age is ending. The snow is melting and I don't know what to do. I am trying to reach a forest in the mountains and maybe you can help me on my way. This is the best I could do so I am hidden here near this man made forest. On upper part of metal fence post.

2nd Ave SE, Olde Town, Issaquah, WA, US

A nice leisurely stroll along a fabulous sub-urban trail. You can park at the suggested coordinates in a small lot, there are also a few spots along the road, be careful of no parking signs.

The tag is at the base of a lamp post along the trail, I won't tell you which one, but you will see a MOD (Mammoth on Da'Trail) sitcker on the post.

Enjoy your walk and please claim as soon as possible!

Two days ago, I was working at home when I received 2 separate text messages about a Wooly Mammoth in Mt. Morris! How did I not hear the trumpet blast?! Sure enough, had missed all mention of this, as I was getting ready for my first day of working at home.

Yesterday, we got up, got dressed, and waited. NOTHING! CRAP!

Today, I heard it! The wife said GO! And so off I went! I knew the area and was glad that the local police were NOT sitting here today - it is one of their favorite spots to catch the speeders. Parked and headed out. Phone GPS took me to the flag in the middle. Looked around it and the giant star. NOPE. Wandered out and then back to same spot. Returned to vehicle, got out GPS, input coordinates and followed that to a spot about 20 feet away. Then, something clicked and I checked the small standing monuments to each war. CLINK! Wait, where did it go?! THERE! It blew a gentle trumpet at me as I picked it up off the ground! Texted the wife and headed back home!

GREAT WAY TO START THE DAY!

Think I know the hider, too! ;)

I was caching nearby the other day & “What was THAT?” I heard something coming my way! And it was BIG! I could tell by all the noise & how the ground was shaking. I ran to see what it was & “OMG! Could it be?” It looked like some woolly mammoths were making their way through the cemetery! And little old me was right in their path! “I’m going to get stepped on!” I thought to myself. “I’ve got to find some cover!” Nearby was a headstone, almost completely hidden by the two big bushes on either side of it. I ducked under the branches & waited for the big beasts to go by. Unfortunately, I was not hidden well enough, because one of the little ones found me & got left behind by the rest of the heard. I left him there, to await the return of the heard. He’s safely tucked away for now, waiting for someone to come along.

@Foxy - My sincere apologies for the scolding you received from someone with regard to where I chose to hide the mammoth tag. I felt like the butterfly sculpture was a unique and interesting location, and felt that a few inches of peelable clear tape would not do any harm to something made out of solid cast aluminum. Nevertheless, in hindsight, perhaps I should have chosen a different spot. Anyway, I'm happy you were able to diffuse the situation and successfully claim the tag. Best regards.

I was lucky enough to be in the area and saw this wooly mammoth was literally only a mile away from where I was.. had to fight to see in the rising Morning Sun to make the turn at the location, I was approached by someone not happy that someone used several inches tape to wrap the tag around the metal art work butterfly ( as they saw me using my car key to try to cut the tape off.. the word vandalism/police was brought up and I apologize profoundly that this person who hid it obviously doesn't know that . And threw a few more very sorrys out (that seem to ease thier mind and calm down a bit).. oh forgot to mention on the way back to the car I had three black cats run out around me in the parking lot where I parked...I don't know if that's a bad omen or a good one

The first mammoth I ever met was, of course, on the Flintstones. Very useful. Served as their shower... vacuum cleaner... you name it. Maybe even built their architecturally fascinating stone houses. Come find this mammoth tag at a stone Flintstone house, by the window where he might offer you a nice shower.

North side, under window, look behind the heart-shaped rock. I live nearby and might be waving at you from my porch, depending on when the tag goes live.

Don't forget, claim this one immediately after you find it (as a courtesy to other seekers.) You will need to pay shipping for the cool backing that the mammoth attaches to magnetically.

2 woolly mammoths have recently been discovered by scientists. Included here is photographic evidence of the mammoths, safely encased in solid ice during the ice age, now thawing out in our era. One of the mammoths can be found at this location. Take a few moments to honor the past here. The mammoth here is inside a protective container; please take and keep it, as well.

Woolly just got kicked out the the RV resort... it probably had something to do with not keeping the appropriate social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic. So now, he's hiding under a red "hat". There is room to park completely off the road before searching for the mammoth!

In Benson, AZ, Mammoth footprints were found in a remote desert landscape. The footprints were thought to have been made 5 million years ago. What kind of footprint will this Woolly Mammoth leave?

On July 3, 1997, officials in Chandler, AZ were alerted that dinosaur fossils had been found. Mammoths could be spotted (at one time) all over Arizona... looks like you might uncover another one today!

I'm not sure that the Game Commission lists this season, but I knew that hunting was permitted where this beast was spotted. It was still dark when RJ-Pup and I set out and it was surprising how many others were travelling around town. I could see a glow in the distance, which must have been the city lights, as the rain and earliness meant it was not yet the rising sun. The friendly beast was found as pictured, then RJ-Pup and I walked a bit up and down the road for her to have some sniffing time.

This Wooley can be found near where miners first found Astrodon Jonstoni. Even kids can find dinosaurs.

In September 2012 in Russia, an 11-year-old boy named Yevgeny “Zhenya” Salinder happened upon an extremely well-preserved woolly mammoth carcass while walking his dogs. The remains were of a 16-year-old male woolly mammoth that died about 30,000 years ago. The discovery helped scientists conclude that the large “lumps” on a mammoth’s back were extra stores of fat to help it survive winters. The mammoth was nicknamed “Zhenya.”

If you have the time stop by and say hello Astrodon Jonstoni.
